Happy Birthday Bluesy! Nice present! :)

Thanks everyone for the early birthday wishes. The bass was a "now" kinda thing and I could not wait until my actual bday (early March) otherwise this bass woulda been gone.

@ Joe
"pests" LOL! Totally missed that at first!

Well, that is easy. Once it arrives, leave it in the case and don't play it until your birthday. No problem! :hiding:

I just wanted to post some feedback about my new Sadowsky no. 5981.

I am very happy with it. The bass has come out exactly as I had hoped. The 70s spacing, maple fingerboard and single coils have given me just the sound I was after. (A nice change of flavour from my rosewood, 60s spaced RV4. I am keeping this one with older nickels on it.)
The look is great too. Got a thumbs up from the band I play in straight out of the case and big smiles all round when they heard how it sounded. It is also nice and light but everything feels solid and just right. I tried a Will Lee when I went to the old workshop last Feb but I think the standard neck size works better for me. It's just what I am used to probably. I love the satin finish on the current necks too.

The construction looks faultless and I had to pass on my regards to Lisa Hahn, who I discovered was the builder when I took a look inside the control cavity earlier today.

My other bass is taking a well earned rest for a while whilst I bond with the new one. I don't think that will take too long! I'm loving it. I am lucky to now have two brilliant Sadowsky basses!

I would also like to say how quickly it was delivered. Fed Ex did a great job with that.

Really love the Portabag too - top notch.
I will be sure to call by the new shop when I next visit New York. (I got engaged on my last trip over so I am sure we will be visiting NYC again over the next year or two.)

That's just great but nothing out of the ordinary coming from Sadowsky , that's just the way they always are :bassist:. Kudos to the Sadowsky crew and congrats on a great bass.

Sadowsky PJs kill. That's the kind of bass I'd play if I needed a 5 stringer. I might even give up on my Vintage tint ash/maple addiction just for the looks of that gold guard against the burst.

Congrats Bluesy!
