Club Sadowsky!!!

I'm saving up for #2. Depending on how the new gig goes (sound wise), I'm thinking I'll add a Metro V5-24 in alder/rosewood. My current bass is a M5-24 w/ ash & maple.

I'd like to own a NYC in the future, but it seems like the Metro line fits my needs/wants quite well.

regarding the neck, I already took your route :D...it felt great before but it's even better now, just like the neck on my DB.

I'm generally not a fan of gold PGs, except on natural and 'burst P-basses, on which it looks great, IMO.

I used to have a 'burst Dark Star P bass with a gold PG that was a real beauty.

Cam, there's plenty of people who will tell you that unless you want some of the finer schmancy woods Sadowsky carry, there's no need for an NYC.
(I think Roger is one of the guys who will tell you that)

The two Metros I have are super fine.

I have a couple of NYC JJ5's in my stable, but my PJ5 is a Metro and it's not giving ANYthing up... at all! I couldn't be any happier with it. Seriously.

Just as Roger has said... if a more straightforward config is what you're looking for... you don't care much about chambering (you can handle a tiny bit more weight) and you don't need a custom finish or exotic woods, a Metro should be your first consideration, and I agree.

Exactly guys. When I read that on Roger's site a year or so ago, it struck me that if the man himself says it-it is true.

I have adored my current Metro, gotten compliments on tone in a variety of settings (theatre, pop, military), and think they are a steal.

I think the only time I'll opt for NYC is when it comes time for a fretless...

Testing123 and the rest of the Sadowsky Club,
Nice one, I just got one just like it. My photo is little so it went by without comment :D (here it is again ) but it did not go by without comment at practice the other night! Have I mentioned the tone?
I have wanted a Sadowsky for years and I could have bought 5 Sadowsky's with all the money I have spent on mid level $800-$1200 basses. I was finally able to get one and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Roger!

Thanks Bass Central too for letting me try a few via UPS!

Tell me about it! It's like anything else, I guess. You test the waters with a beginner/beater, then fool around with midrange type of stuff cause it's 'affordable' and more readily available, but in the end, you've spent more $$$ than if you just purchased the right tool for the job in the first place.

Oh and looks like we got twins. :D

P.S. My folks grew up in Joplin, so I used to spend summers in your neck of the woods. :-)

They have a pretty large selection of high-end instruments that you can try in a relaxed environment. George worked with me showing patience and honest concern. Really a great guy (didn’t get to meet the owner Chris—maybe the next time I’m in).

Hey George! You were really great the other day. Thanks for taking the time with me, I really appreciate it.

(Back on topic...) The RV4 is wonderful so far. I'll be playing this weekend, so I'll know for sure then.
