Club Sadowsky!!!

OK: I like that better ;)

Not like you needed my approval, but, I approve!

The sentiment is appreciated none the less!
Now I just gotta figure out how to keep from scratching it... no matter how hard I try it happens. The last bass I got I got "pre-scratched" just so I wouldn't have to worry about it...
The thought keeps me awake at night. :atoz:

BTW... GREAT looking bass!

Thanks!

Hi all. Already a club member with my RV5 metro, but I have been thinking about getting a modern M5 to go with it, but I had two questions.

1) Does anyone know if new metro modern's have the new pickup shape.

2) If I ever want to switch the pickups to big singles can I do that on metro moderns without additional routing?

Thanks for the info.

We have switched over to the new soapbars on Metro production as well. I haven't received one yet, so they may still be transitioning over.

Nordstrand Big Singles, Big Splits and Big Stacks are available in this same size shell. The 4 string shell is referred to as a BC cover. The 5 string shell is referred to as a P4 cover.

Old style shells are EMG-35 and EMG-40.

I usually can't wait for that scratch, just so I can stop stressing over it. But I expect my bass to get dinged a little over time.

We are just pre-aging the wood for you! ;)

Roger

I love NYC humor :). Can't wait to play it!

HOLY CRAP!!!

That is all.

Nice bass. Why did it take a year to complete??

Thanks for the nice comments on my bass! I don't know exactly which things caused the delay, but I know they moved their shop from Brooklyn to LIC during the build, and the fact that I ordered a Brazilian rosewood board (which in the middle of the build process got aborted because it's not allowed to travel outside the US) that got replaced by an amazon rosewood board are things that may have slowed the build down. Kevin also told me the last few weeks / days have been crazy busy, so I guess the delay was caused by the sum of a lot of things, but their customer service is and stayed top notch during the process!

I missed #6000 by a hair. I present you #5997. She has finally shipped exactly one year after I paid the deposit for this one. It should be here on Monday :hyper:.

Another gorgeous matching headstock build!!! Meeee likey this one tooooooo!

But it's backwards. :)

1 year and damn well worth the wait! Congratulations!

Thanks! I tend to like matching headstocks on basses with solid color (not on burst finishes) and dark (rosewood, ebony, ...) boards only, but that's just me.
My bass on order will have a matching headstock as well, as well as a d-tuner on the low B :ninja:. Or should it be called an a- or b-flat-tuner then :p.

I fixed the backwards problem for you:

You new bass is a beauty. My advice, don't worry about it. They are meant to be played. Unless you never leave the bedroom it's gonna happen. I truly have decided never to let it bother me. Enjoy that new PJ!

Well...they always bother me, a little.
But, they happen.
The most draggish variety is "on the money position, back of the neck," where you have to feel it all the dang time.
I somehow did this to my brand spankin' new Nord; and sent it right back for repair.

It never use to bother me until I had a trans-red Yamaha 5 string with a quilted maple top and my 5 year old knocked a music stand sideways over onto it leaving a gash in the top when it was only a week old. It was right where I placed my hand and saw it every time I played. After seeing all the basses on here in good shape I became obsessed with not scratching the basses but I couldn't stop it.
And for reference here's the gouge.

I would like to finally join the Sadowsky Club! I just picked this up today from Bass Club Chicago. It is a new Metro MV4 in Trans Blue. It is a discontinued color, but they said that Sadowsky made a limited run of 3 of these in this color and that 2 of them were sold and Bass Club got the 3rd one. The grain on the body is just awesome! :hyper:

It was a tough negotiation with my wife. I had to waive my rights to the next 2 birthdays and Christmas', a first round pick in the 2013 NFL draft, and a shrubbery, not too nice.
