Yep. Rosewood P/J. I don't expect to do a wholesale sell-off of my Laklands. I just (a) wanted a P/J and (b) loved the Sadowsky I had a chance to try out at another local store. It's a very different feel, and it looks fantastic. The tone ain't bad, either.

I'm not going to be selling my Lakkie either; my impending Sadowsky is an addition to the stable rather than a replacement bass.
I guess there's always the chance My Sad will make me want to swap out everything else for Sadowskys, but then the missus would kill me
Just so you know, the newer SD pickups shipped in the same shells before they changed them to the new shell size/shape, so they looked the same.
Those are not EMG's. They are Sadowsky pickups in the same size shell as the EMG-40. I think the narrower shell is more elegant and less "blocky" looking. Especially on the 4 strings.

Agreed, and FWIW, when I had my 24-Fret 5, I always thought I'd prefer a smoother rounder corner on the pickups, as I tend to anchor there a lot. Personal pref on that tho.
I just got an email from Kevin at the shop that my Metro HPJ has arrived. The will check it in, change the strings from blue label to black and mount a different pickguard and it'll be ready to go.

Hi all. Already a club member with my RV5 metro, but I have been thinking about getting a modern M5 to go with it, but I had two questions.
1) Does anyone know if new metro modern's have the new pickup shape.
2) If I ever want to switch the pickups to big singles can I do that on metro moderns without additional routing?
