3-6: It seems like black wins but I just think on that natural P that Willie Weeks has been playing for a few years with the gold guard and it looks so classsy...
...it felt great before but it's even better now, just like the neck on my DB.

regarding the neck, I already took your route
Go for the gold Fran! It'll be nice to have a new dress for your babe. BUT don't trash the black for a change of pace again down the road. The black Sad' buttons would sure look good on top of the gold guard also. You got yourself a real sweetheart there amigo.

Edit: If I recall correctly, Willie's P. is one of the very 1st examples of the '57 P, with the 1st split pup & raised A string poles. It was blonde / gold guard / maple neck as the introduction to that bass I believe. There was a few beauty custom colours that followed w/ gold guard that all LOOKED. Is there ANYONE you'd sooner see with that bass!!! King of the P Bass groove IMO.

I did it myself, followed your guide posted on the Sadowsky forum. I did it three weeks ago after a rehearsal where the neck felt a little bit sticky. I was just going to take a little bit of the gloss out if it, but then I went all the way. I also applied a little bit of gun stock oil (that smell brought some memories of my time serving). The smell is gone after a couple of weeks and the neck feels as good as the one on my Double Bass.

I am very happy to say I am now a member of the Sadowsky family. I visited Bass San Diego yesterday and purchased a Metro RV4. Ive waited a long time to own a Sadowsky and am thrilled that the wait is finally over! 
Not much playing time on it yet, but it sure sounded sweet at the shop.

Oh and thanks to the good folks at Bass San Diego. If youre ever in San Diego, make sure and stop by the shop. They have a pretty large selection of high-end instruments that you can try in a relaxed environment. George worked with me showing patience and honest concern. Really a great guy (didnt get to meet the owner Chrismaybe the next time Im in).
