Club Sadowsky!!!

Walter Becker played this album w/a Sadowsky J4 & I just love it all. The pic is from the promo of the 2003 S.D. release. Interesting stuff to play & groovy as a bonus. Just a little overdub taste of my take on a fun tune.

I'm halfway through and it just kills. Fantastic playing and tone Blair, I love it! :bassist:

By the way, write down all the settings (pres., comp, bass, etc.) this is just one of those "The Tone".

Thank you Fran. I just love playing the Dan! So nice to have the Sad'PJ to play it as well. I used the Fender P, w/Sad' preamp pedal the 1st time.

Edit: I'll go back & enter the settings for ya. With this one the tone is in the fingers OVER the P pup. Gonna do a folder of 6 songs as I keep experimenting w/ EQing.
The EQ settings I'll get to you later.

You know, I've almost always played with my left hand over the bridge pickup, the only exception might be some ballads or country stuff, but even on those songs, if I was playing live and 'in the heat' I'd placed my LH over the bridge pickup. It was more a question of having the most confortable thumb-rest than a tonal choice. After some conversations about tone with you and the amazing tone on your recordings I 'forced' myself to play more over the P to the point that it has become my standard position. Now I play 75% of the time over, or slightly behind the P pickup and I've found that my tone satisfies me even more; I've found a sweet spot for most of the songs I play. I still play over the bridge but not because I found the rest for my thumb more confortable, but because I'm going for that tone. So once again, I gotta thank you for being so thoughtful on your observation of the smallest details.

Hey Bluesy, if you don't mind getting rid of it just let me know and I'll PM you with my adress. I'll cover the cost of the set, shipping, paypal fees... let me know if that's OK with you.

Ummm... looks like they used substandard wood for the board tho... look at all that crooked grain. Maybe they can steam it straight or something. Just make sure to have them do that before they ship it! ;) :D

:hiding:

Ok, ok... here's what I really think...
