I have no problem cutting through the mix
with a punchier type sound instead of a mid

As many of you know do to financial pressures I was forced to sell my Sadowsky NYC about 4 months ago. It was a sad day as that bass was clearly "the one". Anyway, I'm now getting back on my feet a bit and on the market for a Metro. Ideally, I'd like an MV5 (w/SC's) but I'd consider an RV5 and maybe a four if the price difference was worth it. Ironically, the guy I sold my NYC too is thinking about selling, but I'm about a grand to 1500 short on that deal. But, if any of you are about to list a Metro MV or RV5, or know someone selling one please PM me.
PS: If anyone knows where my old Corsica Blue Metro RV5 (NAMM 3 0f 10) is, I'd love to get that one back if it's available. Randy Lopez sold her about a year ago, and can't remember who too.

I've been selling off some stuff lately; which, of course, will leave a guy/gal wondering what to do with the paypal balance.
I'd been considering one of the new G&L M2500's, and then saw this bass in classifieds here; and shoved off thoughts of the G&L.
I'm sure the M-Series are nice, and I bet I'd like them more than the L-Series (which I played for decades)...I'd sorta be surprised if this bass and the G&L M-series don't have some sonic similarities; and the Sadowsky won't leave me bothered by the G&L's narrow string spacing...

I can't imagine I'll play above 9th position any more than I ever do, so some of that fingerboard will be wasted on me. More than anything else, I just wanted to try one of these and see if it had a place in my toolbox.
I've enjoyed the Sadowsky PJ experiment; and while I do have one I've more or less bonded with, it's not going to ascend to First Tier Assault Weapon status. Maybe this won't either, time will tell.

I've been wondering the same thing. I sent them an email about 6 weeks ago and they told me it would be a month before the onboard preamp would be available.
I've been messing with an m5-24 with big singles. Have not taken it out of the house yet, but it's pretty nice. I like the neck pickup solod as a big nasty Pbass type sound but with such a tight low end. Pretty cool. The blended sound is awesome but doesn't have a lot of use in the music play.
It's still undeniably one of the great 5 string basses.
I like it best with sadowsky black steels so far.

I really hope you like this bass. Many have given up on it (including me during a brief period of insanity) thinking it didn't have enough pillow or fundamental support. If you take the time you will get past it. I use it for everything from Louis Armstrong to Katie Perry. I can do the Motown thing, as well as techno pop with mine. With the M5-24,the VTC is not only your friend, but your personal sound tech. Check out this clip. Great playing for sure and the bassist shows a nice tonal pallet with his Modern
It can be a pit bull if you want it to, but it has a very sweet side if given the chance.

you were one of the proponents of the Modern whose posts I read while researching whether it might fit me. Thanks for that clip.
There were two clips on line that hinted at it being workable for me. One is Will Lee; he sounds pretty fab on anything, so...there's that.
The other clip, I don't know the guy, but the middle two finger style clips are sounds I dig.
