Went to Roger's Long Island City facility this past Thursday to pick up the Cherry Burst P/J picured in the following post. While there, Kevin showed me my blue Modern that is almost ready. They both are ash body/maple neck basses, 24 fret, and the fiver has a roasted birdseye maple neck. Have to admit that the blue bass knocked me out.

So...just bought a Batt-O-meter from the shop. Question, what voltage indicates a battery (Standard 9V) should be replaced?

Is it the same for all Basses?

What am I missing?

Hello, everyone! Although not part of the fold at the moment (if you bought M1132 off the Sadowsky site within the last year, I hope my old bass has found a great home!), I still always enjoy the start of a new Club Sadowsky thread so I can drool at all your gorgeous instruments!

To the point: Today I put a new set of Sadowsky Black Label flats (45-105) on my Jack Casady bass because I thought that would be a fun combination. I'm enjoying the sound and feel so far, but I have two questions about these strings:

1. About how long will it take for the dark "residue" to wear off these strings and not show up on my hands?

2. On the A string, there's about a 1/2"-long gummy, sticky spot that begins around the first fret and goes into the B note. Any idea what that spot might be and how I can get rid of it without "compromising" that string or the bass?

Now for something a little different. My 1st NYC custom. . I ordered this the other day and am totally jazzed. I'm not one for figured tops but have fantasized about owning a bass like this for some time now. Can not wait! Kevin and Roger have been great to work with.

Holy snapin' mother of blue is that nice! My nickname is "Blue Lou" so I've got a soft spot for all things blue. The roasted neck sets it off really well!

Thank you sir! The roasted neck was chosen as a hedge against the severe humidity down here in Tampa (Clearwater). Any weakness associated with birdseye maple necks can also be nullified by roasting.

Thank you very much! The best thing about this bass was that the parts all came together such that the bass itself, independent of its beauty, is an outstanding bass- outstanding. Once in a while the parts come together and you get a bass that is just a cut above the normal awesomeness and is awesomer. Wood is funny like that!

Money has a way of making things happen....trick is to get the cash, and only through honest and honorable efforts- only took me 40+ years of working to get to a place of relative comfort- so I occasionally buy nice basses

I'm all quilted out, but that first one looks almost oceanic. I love it. The second one is killer as well. it's a really nice burst. Those two axes are perfect examples of the 2% of bursts out there that I actually like.
