I thought that you already had the hole in the head.

I got mine when I bought my second Sadowsky.

Oh BTW sweet looking bass. I'm jealous.

Dang! You're going Sadows-crazy!

Hi

Started the club, crapped out of the club, and now back in full force

Rob
Yeah.......kinda cool huh?!?!!!:D

Yeah, what Vic said! How many is this now?

I think it's just two, but after being completely out of them for a long time, and getting two this close together, it's kinda' funny. :)
At least 10 total. Maybe more like 12- honestly I've lost count a LONG time ago!! LOL!!!
But for now, only 2.
Damn Roger!! .....Sadowsky's are like Hotel California.
Once you're "in", you never can leave!

Lol!! Awesome Vic!

I have a BUSY weekend of gigging so it should be fun to go back and forth with the WL and the NYC.

Club dates and church- which if you recall is a pretty big one with uber sweet FOH.
So we'll see which one the engineers dig more.

I've got another Sadowsky newbie question...it seems like the blend knob in my bass is reversed - turns clockwise for the bridge pickup and counter clockwise for the neck. Is this normal for the Sadowsky pre? Any particular reason why?

Yes, normal. Why, because Roger's crazy brain works that way:D. Seriously, he has posted that it seems more logical to him.

Easy to either get used to or to simply switch the leads on the pot if it really bothers you.

Gotcha! Yeah that's easy to get used to, I was just checking to see if maybe someone else had modded my bass or something. Now that I know it's no big deal at all.

I guess it makes sense depending on which direction the white line is set to when the knob is in it's "middle" position...if the middle position is down instead of up or pointing towards the neck then turning the line towards either pickup would favor it.

As others have posted, this is the way all of them come by default unless otherwise spec'd (which I think is rare). I'm actually sorta' surprised you posted this, noting this isn't the first Sadowsky you've played, but maybe it's been a while. :)

Regardless, it's a SUPER trivial two wire swap if you wanted to reverse it, so no biggie at all. :)

+1 I don't think Roger will ever budge on that, just like he will never put a midrange control on a bass... just not going to happen.

Oh... wait......:p

Well, it probably won't happen untill Mikebass gets another Sadowsky. Oh... wait... what the.......

...probably won't happen until Ken starts playing P basses... oh... wait... ;) :D :D

Yeah...it's been a LONG time since I've played a Sadowsky (whenever Ken first got the orange bomber, I believe) and up until this weekend I had never gigged one, and I almost always play with the pickups dead center, so I was out of the loop on that one. In the middle of my set on Sunday I tried favoring the neck pickup a bit and was thinking to myself at first "man, this neck pickup is kinda thin sounding!" I'm a newbie!

Hi

You'll get used to it I had an Alembic that was the same way

Rob
THAT'S IT! I was wracking my brain trying to think of where else I ran into it, and I think Zon's done it this way before (tho I don't think so anymore), and Alembic was the other one I ran into. I had an Epic 6 that was wired this way too.
