So... a little bird told me that Roger is offering a short run of trans red Metros... I wonder what the story is with this...
I would love to have a UV70-RW-ALD-4 in trans red. Just sayin...

A bass this beautiful should come with a warning tag:
"May cause heart palpitations, erratic breathing, and loss of concentration. And involuntary finger twitching"
...interesting...I just have to say that.....for a certain someone.....Ash / Maple = I'm sold.![]()
Okay, help me decide: Blue or Black Steels on my Alder / Braz PJ5???
I am currently using Blue Nickel.

Since you're not on the flatwound camp, I'd suggest to stay at least on the nickel one. Why do you want any more highs and string noise? keep the steels on the 4-stringer and use the PJ5 for the warmer tones.
By the way, for all those swaping/buying used strings, don't forget that the G string is cut shorter for the 4+1 5-string headstocks and won't reach the post on a 4 stringer (yeah BC, we never thought about that)
Aww fudge. I have a new set that I can ship to you?
Well, nickel is just a little tooooo warm on the Alder/Braz.
) and my PJ is wearing another brand nah, don't worry, I'll try to flip them here or just learn the lesson. The new policy of the Spanish postal service is to charge handle fees for everything with comercial value coming from out of the EU; minimun rate of around 25 bucks (+taxes) which makes small orders from the US cost prohibitive.
Now I'm out of my favorite strings (Sadowsky flats, couldn´t be no other) and my PJ is wearing another brand
Anybody in Europe has some spare Sadowsky 4-string SBF45 sets to sell or knows of any Sadowsky dealer that stocks them?

+1If you want more zing out of that, the Black Steels will deliver. I'm a huge fan of the Blue Steels
On my Ash/Maple 4 bangers. But, you really can't go wrong with either if you want more grind!
+1
Nickels, while I love the slickery feel, are generally a bit too warm for me... especially on a warmer wood combo like alder/rw.
Your Metro has blue steel, correct? Me likey!
Blue Steels:
