Club Sadowsky!!!

I'm thinking very seriously about selling some basses and getting me a custom NYC PJ5...probably the Vintage P-shaped body. Now just to decide which basses to sell...Modulus, Lakland, or Sadowsky!

My current Sadowsky is an incredible NYC Modern 24-5 with Birdseye maple FB, Flamed maple top, swamp ash body, Dark Cherry burst, and Nordstrand Big Splits. I love the Big Splits...but I still prefer a PJ sound for my personal tonal choice. Only problem is the PJ I would want would cost over $5K and its just not worth selling my amazing modern bass to drop another couple thousand!

Hi Dylan,

this is old, try sending a PM to the OP:

I remember another old post where the poster asked people to guess what the difference was between two sound clips, people thought it was active vs passive or new strings vs old, in the end it was SC vs HC...

That's me, I need to move the clips to another server and I'll post another link.
Thanks guys!

Hopefully I'll have it by Friday.

Man you can really tell the diff especially in the slap clips.

Man, to me both sound really similar. Unlike Vic, I can barely tell the difference!

They sound VERY similar to me as well, but like Vic I can hear the difference in the slap clips. I can hear a very slight difference in the bridge pickup clips as well. Makes sense, because both in slap and with the bridge pickup the upper mids are a bit more prevalent, and that seems to be where the biggest difference is between the HC's and singles.

I'm thinking there would also be a noticeable difference in fingerstyle when digging in hard...

Hey Fran, thanks very much for taking the trouble to post those clips again. Man, to me both sound really similar. Unlike Vic, I can barely tell the difference!
In the finger style clips, I agree it's harder to tell them apart (which is a GOOD thing IMHO), but I think the slap sounds really bring out the differences.
