***Your right Blair we went thru the long wait together. I got mine just right before you got yours and when I seen this photo I was so mad at myself for not getting a pic with Roger and my Bass. I am still in love with mine and thats the best compliment I could ever give it.

Hey, I know I posted before, but I had to give up my NYC MS5 due to budget issues. Anyway I'm playing with a borrowed bass now and badly miss my Sadowsky. If any of you are parting with one of those extra or backup Metro's or have grown tiered of your particular example of an MV, MS, RS, or RV5 please PM me before you post for sale. The only thing I'm not interested in is a modern or 24 fret. My budget is 15-1800$, I would also consider a four string at the lower end of that price scale. I thought I had a MV5 locked up this weekend but the seller decided to keep it. Not that I blame him. 
And if anyone knows where my old Metro (NAMM 3 of 10) is, I'd love to get that one back.

I am a working bassist and don't have "a" band per se, but take calls from guys I've gotten to know thru the years (yes I'm an "old fart"). I consider myself fortunate and very blessed to be able to line up with good players week in and week out.
Sometimes, tho I do ask myself, usually while in transit to..."Why do I lug all this stuff out to a $100, 4 hour, Sunday night, small crowd Blues gig that gets me back home between 2 - 3 in the AM?"
Well, last night was a good reminder of why I love this soooo much. I took this beauty with me...
...and from the very first note it was like stepping into a "state of grace". This bass was really singing, even so that "I" couldn't screw it up. The sound man told me after the show that he pulled me out of the mix and just let the bass and my rig "do their thing". This Vintage 5 is #3044, and is a solid body, ash/maple combo with SC PUPs without VTC, that always delivers. (I wish I was as consistent as the bass) I bought it new in 1999 and it has been "riding shotgun" ever since. I've played bass for about 48 years and have never found any instruments that I like better than my Sadowsky basses. So here's a shout out to the Sadowsky crew and to all you fellow players who find yourselves "mired" in that incredible state of grace that we get playing these amazing instruments.

Not mine but, I thought this was a beauty. The new Metro M4-24 in Dark Cherry Burst.
24 frets is my preference, and that is a nice one, for sure. Where did this pic come from, if I may ask? The web site says the new metros should be in in about 4-5 months.

I love the newly positioned & "angled" look (similar to their bigger 5-string brothers), of the NYC 4-String's. That, along with the simple & clean "NYC" underneath "Sadowsky" - love it.

Different strokes for different folks. I like it better on the other position, though this won't be a deal breaker next time I order a new bass.
