I will say this tho... on the ones they have the angled logo on, it does look like they moved the retainer back a little bit, and in that location, it would conflict with the "S". Not sure how big of a deal that location shift is.

Correct....we did want to move the retainer closer to the nut for a little additional downbearing.

This. "If it ain't broke....." A sig is tradition IMO. Wonder if it could be adjusted to work with the new retainer & still remain at original horizontal position.Different strokes for different folks. I like it better on the other position, though this won't be a deal breaker next time I order a new bass.
It may be a factor but I still think it would work as before if adjusted slightly.

I've designed too many logos over the years to count, but one of the first rules is - don't crowd the logo. So moving the decal due to the functional location requirements of the string retainer makes absolute sense from a design standpoint.
