Club Sadowsky!!!

I am the proud owner of #4162, a USA Vintage 5.

I am curious why there are not that many fretless Sadowsky's out there? I am considering ordering one, but am a bit confused why they do not seem to be that popular. Anyone own one who can give a review?

We make as many fretless basses as we get requests for. We tend to not make too many lefties or fretless basses for our stock inventory but we make plenty on special order. Look a little earlier in this thread for Ken Fiester's new white fretless.

Couple of shots from Sunday.

The harmonica player only had a few keys with him, so they kept calling all these blues standards in unusual keys. Had to transpose on the fly...

I updated the software on the Forum page last week and we lost the entire thing.....there has not been that much activity on it so I am letting the forum go.....in many ways, I consider the Talkbass Club Sadowsky to be the real Sadowsky Forum.

I was wondering if there was a possibility of transferring my descriptive post on "back of neck finish removal" to TB for future reference. Never know - might help someone down the line sometime. I have screen shots of it that I could post but it would be an honour for me to have it come from your site. That sounds cool. I'll give it a try later tonight Roger. I could even re-type it from the screen shots if they come accross too small to read properly for the email. Maybe a pic or 2 as well.
BTW - You have NO idea how happy I am to have done that work on the neck. It's still slides like teflon!

Of course, that's your call.
I will say two things though:

1) a dedicated forum allows individually threaded topics to be searched and contributed to more easily than searching a 50 part mega-thread here, for specific info
2) As you know Roger, your voice as a commercial user is a little limited here. your own forum has "greater freedom of speech" for you, personally, in this case.

Yeah, I forgot about the conditional restrictions on content here, that's a strong case for a private forum... tho maybe all you need is something very simple, or at least a very simple configuration of something powerful.

And yeah, Chef is right, as shown at the bottom of every page here, TB is currently run on "vBulletin® Version 3.6.12".

Just note that it's commercial/costed. There are free BB's out there too that are probably sufficient for you, I'd think.

phpBB is one I've used a little bit and seen used a lot, and at least as of May '11, one of the top three rated free BB's on one site...

I am also in a number of other instrument fora (keyboards mainly).
I guess the one I like most is the Community Forum Software publised by IP Board.

Yes, those are good points, but I wonder how much more freedom on a forum you really need when there's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube at your disposal? Enough to justify an admin? Was there enough traffic over there to make the time investment worthwhile? I've only gone over to that forum once, because I honestly don't have the time for more than one, and it looked like the action was less... uh, active than here.

I have always viewed this thread as more than a place to find or post information. It's, more than anything else, a "kitchen table" that we all sit around to be with each other. It's "a la familia", & I'm not even Italian. I kind of get it why one location for meeting seems to be preferred by our fraternity.
The only issue I have ( as pointed out previously) is that I miss having quick access to specific facets of Sadowsky. If we could just have a bunch of folders here that a mod could assign content that has been posted re. specific areas, I would like that a bunch.
