I didn't know if they wanted to share backline, or, what that would be, so I brought my usual GK MBF/Neo212; it's an easy carry, and it sounds great.
Their bassist was cool sharing, but, he had a racked SVT/HLF410: very much not my thing. So, I set my rig in front of his, and we did out set, with me playing the ash/maple MV5JJ.
At the end of the set, I bagged the MV5, and grabbed my rig and toted it off; again, it's an easy move.

Their bassist said, "man, I wash my stuff was that easy to move, and sounded that great, what is that?"

I said, "Well, that's GK gear, but, it doesn't matter what that was.That was my Sadowsky, straight to the board, out of the strobostomp tuner/DI. The amp wasn't in the signal chain."

Yup: Sadowsky MV5JJ w/single coils.

Ohhhh... can I play can I play?

I've had lots of compliments on the bass tone in our promo video (see my signature). While I have some personal nits with it (long story), I do think it does an ok job of representing what a Sadowsky a/m J can do.

The reason I bring it up is because many of the people compliment the sound in terms of the amp that's on stage. I always have to tell them that's only window dressing for the vid. The audio was literally an ash/maple Sadowsky J direct into the board via passive DI (Radial JDI) and NO EQ. DONE.

Then I've also loaned it out to a few others for various local recording projects. They say the same thing. :)

So I guess the good news is, I have a kickass bass.

I guess the bad news is, it's not me, it's my kickass bass. ;) :D

It's a Will Lee with a quilted maple top on swamp ash, roasted birdseye maple neck and board, white pearl pickguard, with SC pickups.

I wanted a traditional look on steroids. I put Kevin through hell with multiple change orders but it came out great like all Sadowsky basses do.

Thank you Sir. Looking forward to having that board in hand. :) I'll post more pics after it arrives. When I visited Rogers showroom last week I played this bass along with several others that he had in stock and this particular one felt and sounded so sweet - just right actually. I feel really lucky to have landed this bass.
