How wide is the Mono Betty strap? I don't see any mention of the width on either their website, or a few retailers. It looks like it's probably somewhere betw/ 3-4".

I already mentioned this to Roger but I'll say it here too:
The 2.5" wide suede strap works good but...the bass feels like it weighs 50 lbs.

With the Neostrap, I could swear there was nothing hanging over the shoulder. It feels THAT light and good with the padded neo...except for that sharp edge.

Padded, not elastic. I also don't like straps that grab your clothing, these do not. They have made even my heaviest Spector comfortable. Forget about it with a lightweight Sadowsky!

I use the short strap at the medium position. The best strap I've owned personally.

I made a couple 3 1/2 inch wide leather straps from premium hides, and softened them with neatsfoot oil. They are old and supple now and very comfortable. The width transfers the weight to the entire area covered, rather than creating a single pressure point. Fitted with strap locks and slots for any wireless equipment, they have served me very well. If you are trying to eliminate a sharp area or pressure point in a strap that you otherwise enjoy, I'd hit up an auto supply store and pick up a sheepskin (real or faux) cover for a seat belt shoulder harness. They come in different colors, are very soft, would cover any sharp edges, and helpto further distribute weight.

I bought a Levys 4" leather strap a coupla years ago
and I've never turned back. I think that bassists need
at least 4" in order to re-distribute the weight. With
my 4 inches and my chambered Sadowsky I can do
4 hour long wedding gigs without a problem.
