One thing you might want to be careful of...I've had my HPJ for almost a year and the protective plastic is still in almost new shape, I'd leave it on, its good stuff. If it gets too messed up (torn or something) you can probably send it back to them to have some new ones put on. They'll even inspect it and set it back up for you too... of course all of this will be a nominal fee but you get what you pay for.![]()
Every painted finish fades with age. I'm pretty sure those plastic covers would alter the rate of fade. It might be more or less depending on how much time the bass spends in how much natural light, too, but that would be my main concern... it might literally leave a permanent "tan line" of sorts at some point. Maybe Roger can chime in and say if this is a realistic concern or not.
