Club Sadowsky!!!

I ask Lisa whan I was talking to her Thursday if she built my bass (6318). She didn't build mine...
Ok, another update on this...

I checked and my bass was built by Lisa. And by now, after talking with her on the phone, you know she's as sweet as she is talented!

Also, I found out that they are still supposed to be signing the inside of the elex cover, so go ahead and check yours after all. It's not a big deal, but I might send mine back in at some point to have it signed by her. I just kinda' like that.

Oh, and the 24-Fret 5 I bought from KJung a while back (below) was also built by her. This one reminds me of that one in that it just seems to be able to take a ridiculously low setup... even lower than 4098 for some reason. Maybe it's just a 24-Fret thing. Anyway, just freakin' crazy good.

A badass bass for sure... on EVERY level... but I just need my J pickups/locations, which is why I let this beauty go and shifted.

I double-checked just a few months ago:
Blackie (April '05): Rob Radack
Whitey (Oct '10): R. LoPrinzi
Red (Oct '10): Lisa Hahn

BTW, for those who don't know, Rob LoPrinzi is our own "dragonbass" here on TB. Haven't seen him for a while, but FYI.

I've had basses that were built by all three, and of course, it really doesn't matter who does them. They're all built to the same stringent quality standards, but I do find it kind of novel to know anyway. :)

Actually, quite the opposite. It's typical of Sadowsky... I used a bad word. I should have phrased it more like, continues to impress, instead of "surprised". I share your feelings on this, which is why I've become such a huge fanboi of Sadowsky basses.
One of the things that struck me most when I installed a Sadowsky pre in my Lull was that, all of a sudden the D and G strings were on an even sonic keel with the other strings.

I know this should be in another thread, but,
anyone want to talk about what strings you're
using on your Sadowsky? I wasn't happy with
with the sound of stainless steel strings
(too bright) so I ripped them off and put on
nickels. Haven't tried them on a gig yet.
Anyone else prefer the nickels?

Agree 100%. Just posting the builders as an FYI, and to give them props.

I was expecting black ebony when I ordered this one in 09. That was before I knew of the ebony situation. I'm glad I got what I got

That's gorgeous.

It's nice that I got all-black ebony on my all-white P5, but now that I am aware of the ebony situation I'm completely over the misguided expectation that quality ebony should be entirely black. If I were to order the all-white bass today, it would not bother me a bit if streaked ebony were dyed all black for a better visual vibe (though streaks might work too).

The Blue nickels are what's on 4098 right now, and I like them a lot, but personally still prefer the stainless.

Yes, Lisa was VERY nice when I talked to her.
I checked the the back of the cover and no signature.
Oh well, it's still perfect...100% pefection.

BTW Vic, Love the carpet pics of your bass!!

I like the Blue Nickels for sure. I did just try the Ernie Ball Cobalts and was really impressed. They are different. Very clear but the bright top end is less harsh than stainless steel to my ear. I'm putting the nickels back on my NYC V4PJ (alder/rw) and going with the cobalts on my Metro Will Lee (ash/maple).
