Someday I'll get a gold guard

Love those basses !

Cable question for you fellow Sadowsky players.

I have always had an issue with some cables and my Sadowsky basses (both of them). I find some cables seem to cut out if they move around. I came to the conclusion (may not be correct) that the sleeve was losing contact inside the jack. To remedy this I tried using a Planet Waves cable with the "spring" on the sleeve to ensure positive contact, this has worked 100% of the time, helping to reinforce my hypothesis.

The cables I have trouble with happen to be the cheaper Sadowsky cables, although they work fine in my Dingwall and Rob Allen basses and all my guitars. When this first happened, I thought it might be a bad jack. Roger quickly sent me a new one, I swapped it, but it had the same issue. My new WL4 seems to also have the same issue, making me think that the barrel diameter of cables might be different from brand to brand.

Anyway, to get to the point. I went to buy more of the spring sleeve Planet Waves cables and found out that they have been discontinued :crying:.

Has anyone else noticed this issue with any particular cables? Any other cable options to recommend?

Thanks
Rob

I have had this problem also. I like to use L shape cables
because they are flush against the bass and it's easy to
loop the cable through the strap, out of the way.
But I find they don't make proper contact inside the jack.
I don't have a problem with straight Planet Waves cables.
