Gave the 5 a Thanksgiving bath and new strings today .
That's a really nice bass, love the finish.
Not sure if you are interested in a new one, but Club Bass in Toronto has a MV5-HPJ that is a growl machine. Really good sounding bass. When I was buying my current bass it was between the PJ5 and the Will Lee which I eventually bought(I wanted the thinner nut and mid boost so it won out).
Is anyone familiar with the plastic film that Roger keeps on his basses in the showroom?

i actually have the contact information for the small company in SoCal who makes the cutouts for Sadowsky. Reasonable prices and quick shipping, I ordered some earlier this year. PM me if interested.
This just arrived two days earlier than I expected...I'm so thrilled to own a Sadowsky...incredible sound, build quality and great playability!!! LOVE that Sadowsky sound.
My only gripe is that the fret edges from the ninth fret to the twenty second are pretty sub par...but I've already made an appt to remedy that.

I just saw that Club Bass in Toronto is carrying NYCs - and accepting orders for NYCs. Not sure why anyone wouldn't just order direct from Sadowsky...
Nice. Regarding fret edges, the neck probably just contracted a bit over time, especially given the change of seasons. That happens often on any instrument. Easy to fix, and usually one filing fixes it for life.

Glad you are so pleased! Unfortunately, this is the time of the year when fingerboards shrink due to central heating and low humidity. Once you get the fret ends filed, the problem should not re-occur.

Yup, I've had this happen on a few basses, all top quality... I'm sure they were perfect when they left the shop, but sometimes this happens.
