I installed one in my 97 Fender Jazz Deluxe. It is the real deal. Sounds like a Sadowsky, looks like a Fender. I use it for the uneducated BL's here in PHX who expect a Fender and nothing else.![]()
I'm amazed at all the guitards and drummers here in Tampa/Clearwater who continually ask me "Who makes that?" when I bring out my Sadowskys. I bite my tongue and do NOT say "don't get out much, do ya?".
Black beauty!![]()
Gorgeous bass! I'm a sucker for black and tort.![]()
Most of the people who know what a Sadowsky is are probably here on Talkbass. So, in fact, the folks you're referring to are probably out more than you think.![]()
Has anyone tried the drop-in preamp?
I have in The Fendowsky. Also has Sad PJ pups, Bridge.

Agreed. Hardly anyone around here knows what a Sadowsky is. Truth be told, people tend to hear bass the same way regardless of what you are playing. However, the Sadowskys sit so fat in the mix that I find its extremely easy to lock with a drummer and if anything I get comments about how great the sound and how well I lock in. They really are terrific instruments. I've yet to hear anything even remotely close to "you need to get a Fender" when playing any Sad I've owned.
But if the subject ever comes up, I'm always happy to explain why I think they're worth it!very few know how much I paid for them.![]()
