My first one

MV5-PJ
I've got two gigs on her. So far loving life.

I bought a(new to me)MV5 today after picking up a nice run of theatre gigs during the next 2 months. I needed something versatile that could cover all of the music from swing(Cole Porter etc), through modern dance. Should suit that gig to a tee!

My Will Lee fell off of a chair onto the floor. Sounded like a gun going off. Didn't hurt the bass on the outside but now tightening the trussrod wheel doesn't seem to adjust the neck. Could I have busted the trussrod itself?

Ugh, that doesn't sound good. I would email Roger and let him know what's happening.
Maybe you need to get it ready for a trip to NY. Hope that beauty is ok!

OUCH! If it sounded like a gun going off, my best guess is
the same as yours. The truss rod probably snapped.
It's under a high degree of tension and if it snapped you'd hear
that kind of sound. You should also have noticed a change in the
action on the bass.

As a fellow Sadowsky-ite, my heart goes out to you on this.
Best of luck on the repairs.

Thanks guys. I will contact the shop. I just got it out and checked the action. Even after turning the wheel about half way (in small increments) the other night, the action is still a bit high. Tried turning it a bit more and I can hardly move the wheel now. Something is definitely wrong.

And yeah when it fell off I was in the other room. I thought something had happened outside. It sounded like a gun or a transformer blowing. Only thing I can figure is that my cat must have jumped up on the chair and got caught in the cord or something to knock it off. It was laying there securely before that. I was so relieved to see it wasn't dented or chipped but not it appears something happened internally.

As bad a sound as any note one could play. I cringe just reading this. Get help. *I* would run it by my tech/builder first......knowing what he may probably say. Make the call to NY, and pick up a shipping box while you're out and about. My condolences. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy :scowl:

Thanks. I thought I'd gotten by without any issues but the neck just doesn't feel right. I can tell something is wrong though I'm not seeing any cracks or anything. :(
