I find that I get more compliments on my basses from drummers (excluding bass players, of course) than any other band members.

Agreed! Drummers seem to love the tone as it really compliments the kick so well.
The MV5 I have just picked up is the 8th Sadowsky I've owned and I think I've found the one. Fat, clear, growly when I play by the bridge, thick but with clarity when playing at the bottom of the fingerboard. Definitely one of the best sounding basses I've owned. I just need an RV4-HPJ now as well
