Agreed! Drummers seem to love the tone as it really compliments the kick so well.

The MV5 I have just picked up is the 8th Sadowsky I've owned and I think I've found the one. Fat, clear, growly when I play by the bridge, thick but with clarity when playing at the bottom of the fingerboard. Definitely one of the best sounding basses I've owned. I just need an RV4-HPJ now as well ;)

I personally think it sounds better to roll up bass and treble together then roll off vtc if you get too bright. Thats what makes the right shape in the mids. I usually think treble should be boosted a bit more than bass.

Finally back in the Sadowsky fold with my used Metro Hybrid P! I'm loving the sonic blue finish and the build quality is perfect.


I have a quick question, is it possible to rewire the push/pull pot for active/passive so the pulled out is preamp on and pushed in is preamp off?



I mostly play my basses in passive and use the preamp for on the fly changes when needed.

Hey guys, GAS got the better of me and I really don't want to rack up the debt when I just paid the credit card off! As such, I'm afraid my Metro Will Lee 4 is going to go up for sale. It is a fantastic bass, but I am just not an ash/maple guy. I also don't really use the mid boost switch nearly as much as I thought I would. I have a NYC V4 that is alder/rw with the neck shaved to match a Will Lee feel, so I always reach for that one. It is just more my sound.

I will post this weekend, but thought I'd mention it in the club beforehand.

Here are some pics when I first got it. Only difference now is the pickguard. I'm afraid the black pearl one cracked when changing it out. It is in good shape. There is a dent in the finish on the back of the neck around 10th fret. Hard to see but you can feel it with your thumb when playing. Otherwise, very good shape. I'll take updated shots this weekend when I post in classifieds.

By the way, does anyone have a 2010 Price List? I was trying to remember exactly what I paid to price it and can't find my receipt.

Roger had a alder/rosewood 4 string Metro in our booth at NAMM and it was just killer. As far as a 4 string, jazz type bass goes, it was as good as it gets and the craftsmanship on his Metro line is impeccable. You simply can't go wrong with one of these.
