Club Sadowsky!!!

Yeah, but the issue is, it's not actually a true Rosewood. The fact that it is referred to as Bolivian "rosewood" is just misleading. It's not a member of the Dalbergia family/genus at all.

Hi Vic,

I do not consider it misleading at all. The word Rosewood is being used in a generic sense.....While all true Rosewoods are Dalbergia, there are Dalbergia's that are not Rosewoods....(African Blackwood, Cocobolo, etc.) So to refer to Dalbergia as only being Rosewood is not accurate either.

It is generally accepted (in a generic way) to refer to Morado, Caviuna, Pau Rosa and Pau Ferro as a "rosewood".

In the specific case of the MetroLine, I use the distinction of Maple vs Rosewood as that is one people can relate to. Maple vs Morado doesn't make the same connection people are used to regarding discussing guitar woods.

I have never encountered anyone in the last 35 years who felt "mislead" by my referring to Morado as a rosewood.

Plus, if it were Morado instead of rosewood, then you would have discussions on here like, "Do you like the MV4 or the MV4?" I could see that thread going on for quite a while.:hiding::D

Hey, we're bass players, not botanists. If its reddish brown, its rosewood. Good enough for me.;)

Fair enough.

Could be MPF4 for Pau Ferro. ;)

Hey guys (and gals)

I haven't been active a lot here lately because work got in the way of being a rock-star-bass-player-from-hell but I have to share my latest addition to the family with you... found this on ebay in Japan... a Metro 5 "Limited Edition" in Dark Lake Placid Blue and with a roasted maple neck:D

It's sublime and on a par with my NYCs plus, it looks gorgeous...

I'll send better pictures soon...

So finally I'm in: :)
It's so very cold here in Norway right now, but getting this in the mail warmed my body (from playing) heart, and soul (from listening) :)

And hi Roger!
Got my bass today, and just want to say that I can see all the work and care you guys put into the instruments, and that I love you for it! I have guitars and basses, custom shop this and vintage that, and this bass that's in my hands right now is at another level when it comes to the craft and fit and finish.
It is flawless, and all the little things gives it something I can feel and hear. I will play and cherish this bass for life.
I knew I was getting something good, but was actually surprised at how good it actually is. So keep staying obsessed! ;)

Screencap from when I played my first notes on this beautiful thing:

I just shipped the first two prototypes to Jason on Monday. He is in rehearsal for a tour of Australia and Singapore:

I will report back when I have something to report........

Roger

I guess I should really get back in the loop; I didn't even know this was in the making.

Are there stats on these yet?

(Should I just scroll back though all the pages I've missed and find the info myself?)

No, nothing yet outside of NYC 4 stringer I think.

Nothing yet. We are all waiting for It. Roger will let us know once Jason gives the nod!
