The six "edges" of the core wire bite into the softer wrap wire and better secure it all along its length. Damn, I sure wish there was someplace locally I could try out a Sadowsky bass, it's the only "Fender" style bass that I just can't stop wanting to try...



PS - Please don't tell the Wick club that I've has been lurkin around here....

Sadowsky has a wonderful 7-day return policy. You can order a bass and try it out for 7-days. If it doesn't do it for you, you can return it. You will only be out the cost of shipping both ways. I'm guessing most of them don't get sent back.

On a serious note, is Metro to Sadowsky as Rockbass is to Warwick? Just wondering...

Haha, not at all..
It is more like standard Warwick (Metro) to Custom Shop Warwick (NYC).
You don't miss anything quality and soundwise in Metros.
With NYC you get more options for finish, body top wood, woods selection, you get graphite reinforcement bars in neck and chambered body.
The rest is identical in Metro and NYC.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, if you want block inlays & binding on the neck you have to go Metro.

Hey guys (mods delete if you feel it needs to be), but Don Oatman who owned the now closed Low Down Sound had a UV70 Metro 5 on order before he closed up shop for a customer.
He was honoring the sale because the customer wanted the bass.
Well, the customer was in a pretty serious car accident (he's fine, but a musician with no insurance......) last week.

So, Don called me and asked if I was interested in it. And I just bought the NYC which will be here today!

Anyway, it will be in Don's hands mid-next week.

Specs:
Trans white
Maple fingerboard with pearl blocks/binding
Pearl white pickguard
VTC
And I believe a second pick guard as well, he wasn't 100% sure.

Good news- the Sadowsky site says new, which this is, they are $2850
This one Don said $2600

Hey thanks a lot! Now, if I could only fight the GAS! I look at Dr. Funk's PJ Metro about three times per day...:help:
