Club Sadowsky!!!

Anyone know what finish Sadowsky use on their Metro Maple neck & board basses? Its obviously a satin finish of some kind -
but it doesn't feel like satin finish poly. It feels ALMOST like raw wood. The Metro maple boards and neck all look so WHITE - how durable is the finish? Anyone have a metro long enough for it to show signs of colouring? Do they end up looking like Musicman maple necks? (in other words brown)

Lake Elkhart Wisconsin Jazz on the Vine Jazz Fest. Sound check.

^ Why the pick guard, if you don't mind me asking? I'm curious if Sadowsky would do it without, if asked.

I have a couple nice sparkle Stingrays that I wish hadn't come with their gaudy oval pick guards, so I switched to clear but would prefer they'd had no guards & screw holes at all.

I kinda like the feel of a pickguard, and I ordered the bass before Roger came up with the idea of cutting the neck pocket a little less deep / deeper to give basses with pickguards the same feel (string to body distance) as basses without, so that's why there's a very thin pickguard on mine.
