Club Sadowsky!!!

wweeks.jpg

So, I'm a huge Willie Weeks fan after hearing him on those Donnie Hathaway live cuts. He took the Jamerson 'thang' and went even farther with it. Made it his own. But being a gear head, when I saw the above pic with that scrumptious combination of sea foam green, rosewood, and 'fond' via P-Bass, I was smitten.

The Shadooski PJ5 I just got is a dream come true. Phenomenal instrument in every way. You may have heard of Roger's work in that regard ...
I was torn on the pick guard though, having 'mad love' for the anodized gold guard. Just love it to pieces. But that combination of tort and green in the above pic ... it haunted me...

SO I got both:

Hi Guys,

It's been a few weeks since I've got my second one. this time it's white, vintage, 24 fret, 4 str, NYC #6191. of course I can write how versalite, powerfull, focused and playable that bass is... but You already know it. it's sensless to write, what was already written so many times.

but obviously I have some thoughts.... first thing is I realize, that Roger don't think about bass players only. He think about whole band. about music. that's all.

secondly I think, that NASA should buy one and send it into space. just like they did before with some pictures, music records or Solar System schematics. nobody would invade us. belive me. nobody.... :) THEY will be so scared....:)

here You have some pics with Sadowsky's in use :)

Best Regards

Marcin

Nice. That blue looks great with the white pearl guard and quilt top.

I'll second that! Love the blue quilt and pearl white guard!

Thanks guys - I'm definitely stoked about my first Sadowsky! The only problem is that I think I now have an acute case of Sadowsky-itus and have already started planning my next...

Got my first Sadowsky and trying to find what strings you guys use get the best mix with good low and not to tinny highs. I do have Sadowsky strings on it now but to much strings noise. Do anyone use flats. This is a UV5.

I guess you can go with Labella RX 's Nickel set and try.

With the proviso that string preference is a function of tone goals...so YMMV...

I've been using a Circle K balanced tension set on my Metro RV5. Lows are solid, highs are bright without being harsh, not too much finger noise. Using the alcohol soak tube trick, I can get five passes (new + four cleanings!) out of a set, so that keeps the cost down.
