Ooh, that is a beautiful bass you got, hotrodjohn. Interesting the way the headstock decal is in white with an outline; guess that's because the usual black logo wouldn't have enough contrast against the roasted wood. Noticed that on Roger's, earlier.
Well, here's my Metro Will Lee 5 in rosewood/alder. Still getting to know it, playing with the adjustments to the mid boost, tweaking string height, little stuff like that. I really like the neck contour and narrow width at the nut. Reminds me of my beat-to-crap late 60s J I gigged in the 70s and 80s. Feels like home!
Sounds great to me. Amiright that Metro WLs have singlecoils? Sounds different from my RV5 (with the mid boost off), more defined in the mids. Me likey--but the string brand is different, so I can't say for sure if it's the pups or the strings making the difference.

Hey guys. I had a 2008 Sadowsky MV5 stolen from me years back and found it but the serial number is scratched off. Are you guys aware of a different location (like neck pocket or something) where I could find a serial number or is it only the sticker on the headstock? I need to find a way to prove it is indeed mine.
I has an old NYC 15 years ago. I was putting a d tuner on it and the number was written in the tuner hole! Don't know if japan shop does this
I'd contact roger directly about this, although he'll probably see this and beat you to the punch.
Thanks. I did email Rogers but looks like he is out of office till September. Hopefully one of his employees will chime in. I`ve confirm were my bass is, I even went in person to see it (wanted to grab it and run out....but don't want to get dinged with theft even though it is mine) but police are not being of much help at this point. "Oh well with no serial how can you know its really your bass?" Arrrhhhhgg! Its a sunburst and I can clearly recognize the wood grain, I even have pics of it before it was stolen to match it up, but they seem to think that's not enough....

I've also been just told some of them had it written in the neck pocket. Not stamped but written. I can take the neck off my metro to check if u like
Doesn't matter what's written on some other bass - what's written on the one you think is yours? I'd insist on the neck being taken off to check, and also see if there is any info. on the inside of the control cavity cover. Scratched-out serial should be enough to interest the cops in helping to investigate these other sources.

Yep, nordstrand built singles. My bass is identical and it rocks! I used the wide 500 setting on the mids for a while but am liking narrow 800 better lately. Tons of great tones in there. When i got mine i asked roger if it was actually an ash body but he said they are all alder. Maybe its the smaller body size, the singles, whatever ... Its very zesty for an alder/pf bass.

Lucky to find a great deal and bass.... I just picked up a nice lightweight Alder NYC PJ5 with Brazilian RW board.. .. Im gonna rough it and take it on a session on Thursday and gigs in Austin on Fri Sat... Its going to be fun

I am at the ROOST on Saturday... and a session up on mopac on Thurs - Friday... I say 'rough it" it because so many of my friends have to know every nuance of a bass or amp before they take it on a gig. I just figure the best place to find out about it is on a gig.. . Ha...

Did you file a police report at the time? If you did and your pictures match up then I don't see why the police would not be following up on this. I really feel for you - this kind of situation has to be one of the most frustrating. I would call the Sadowsky shop instead of emailing. They will be able to either give you an answer directly or connect you with the Tokyo shop.
