Club Sadowsky!!!

No bees, no bonnets...well maybe a bonnet. The logo says Metro Line and, *for me,* brings to mind the Lakland Skyline series, which is not a bad bass but not even close to the Metro's. Truth be told, no I don't like the name Metro but that's just personal opinion, as is the rest of it. I just liked it better before. Not a big deal for me as I've owned Metro's and don't intend to do so again.

A simple name, it doesn’t change the quality neither the great sound of the bass. I know everyone has their own opinion but I am just expressing mine. With the name Sadowsky Guitars I felt the bass had a prestige name than other companies that built basses in Japan. I could actually see the bass worth between $2,500-$3,200. However in my opinion changing the name to Metro-Line I feel like the bass lost its prestige and I would consider the bass in the same category of a $1,300-$1800 level bass. I am just glad that I have a MV5 that says Sadowsky Guitars not a metro line

Probably... and their complaint would be as legitimate as any other complaint. I'm sure Roger has his reasons for changing the logo, but obviously there are those that don't like the change. Not a bid deal, can't please everyone. What I also dislike is the cheap gigbags that now come with the Metro's. I believe when they first came out they included a hybrid case.

As long as it says "Sadowsky" on the headstock, nothing else matters. My Metro MV4HPJ is as much a tone machine as my NYC models.

This pretty much ignores the fact that the name of the series was always Metro-Line, it's just that it's now on the headstock--and in really small letters at that. Prestige comes from the quality, anyway.

Whether it's "Metro Line" or "Guitars", the relatively tiny font is only visible at very close range, so I can't really understand why this is on anyone's radar.

Full disclosure: I would prefer that the tuning pegs on my 2005 and 2010 Sadowsky fivers were Fender style 1/2" instead of narrow 3/8" or whatever, so I can't really call anyone else too nitpicky. ;) However the Sadowsky shop did see fit to use Fender-style tuning pegs on the fivers starting a year or two ago, so I can't be the only one who has wished for 'em!

i think the name change has everything to do with marketing--why buy a Sadowsky USA if the metro line is essentially the same Bass at 25 to 30 % less.Mr Sadowsky himself alludes to the fact that the metro-line is of equal quality to the USA model-the logo change just may distinguish the models if not in Quality then in appearance. People pay big bucks for the logo "Sadowsky Guitars"-Made in the USA. Perhaps this will stimulate the sale of more USA made Sadowsky Basses??? jmo ( I don't want a metro-line --I want a REAL Sadowsky- the logo change makes a subtle but still present distinction between the two models)
