Truly one of the sickest looking basses ever. Absolutely amazing!!!!! I have to ask, what does the back look like?
First off, beautiful basses! Quick question if I may, on the knobs, are they smooth sided or grooved? I am having a custom bass made, and really like the look of those aluminum knobs, but I would prefer smooth aluminum. Anyone know where to get some? The ones on best bass gear appear to have grooves. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have that trouble with Blue colored basses/guitars. Afraid to buy blue bodies anymore! LOL!!!

My latest baby. UV '70s, 4 string. Gonna have the shop install single coils and a hipshot next week. More than certain Brett(ibanezcollector) is gonna get it and do a relic job for me. Should I keep it black? I think its goona kill when done!!

I don't know, I just can't get past that "Geddy" look- black with maple/black blocks.......just think it looks cheap.
Actually, just the neck- don't like the black blocks.
But what the hell do I know!!!!

I'd keep it black but I had a 72 J that was trans white (that yellowed very nicely) w/a tort p/g that looked killer:
Please pardon the non-Sadowsky in this thread, but a "+1" to the red tort on this theme. I did this on my Geddy and I personally really like the way it turned out. The key is to NOT get a true classic tort, but instead, get a red/black tort like I believe gillento is saying.
Oh, and a HUGE -1 to "relic'ing" the bass. I've never understood the attraction to that. If the bass didn't earn its wear from actual usage, then it doesn't count. It's just silly to intentionally damage a beautiful instrument, and it does not equate to "mojo" at all. IMHO!!!
