That looks GREAT. I typically don't dig tort on anything but white, olympic white, or 'natural ash'. However, that 'red/black' tort looks GREAT on that bass. Cool! Nice tip on the red/black tort... I never really heard of that. The beauty of tort to me is when it picks up the colors of the other parts of the bass (like classic tort with olympic white and a rw board). That black in that particular guard really ties that guard's look into the black body and black blocks. I like it a lot!

Oh, and a HUGE -1 to "relic'ing" the bass. I've never understood the attraction to that. If the bass didn't earn its wear from actual usage, then it doesn't count. It's just silly to intentionally damage a beautiful instrument, and it does not equate to "mojo" at all. IMHO!!! :)

bike, you've got one of the most intense gigging schedules. you'd probably relic that thing in a matter of days!

but with that said, i'm all for sanding down the neck for a worn in feel. dont mind expediting that process one bit.

Good question. He might, but in looking at the Gotoh website, looks like they only make one 19mm 5 string bridge (the vast majority are 18mm), and it's kind of a funky lookin' one, so if no other high quality bridge will do for whatever you need it for, hopefully he will.

BTW, the "Gotoh" website is really hard to find, because it's under it's parent corporation (Hosco), so here's the URL:

Wow! Awesome spalt/flame thing goin' on there. The BEM fretboard combo is killer!
