Club Sadowsky!!!

Roger, I'm going to have to creatively convince the wife that if I order the case, I might as well get the bass...

... I'll do it when she's on the phone.

you could draw on econ 101 to blow some smoke. buy the case, then argue the case is a _sunk cost_ with little _salvage value_ apart from storing an nyc bass...

Sadowsky lovers - here's a little piece I recorded using the Metro RV5 and my new Launchkey 25. Thought I'd give the MIDI thing a go and see if you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, lol... The bass was one take - recorded direct into a Scarlett 2i2 in Ableton, and the drums are courtesy EZDrummer 2. Enjoy!

Slowly converting all my hardware to black on my MS5. So far I've gotten the anodized black Sadowsky knobs, black satin Hipshots, black string tree, and the black Dunlop strap buttons. I'm going to have the bridge plated in satin black and will match the output jack plate as well.

Question, Metro owners - has anyone replaced their tuners with ultralight ones?

I'm wondering if it's possible to do this on my MV4, after I replaced the tuners on my Fender CIJ Classic Lacquer 60s with Gotoh GBR640s (dropping the weight to just 3.6kg, under 8lb). I didn't think it would make as much of a difference as it did!
I did this on a WL metro and it saved about 200g/0.5lb, so I thought it was helpful. The side effect is that you see the extra 4 holes from the larger tuner plate on the back of the headstock.

Preamp question for you guys - I'm curious, does anyone set their boost levels and then bring up the instrument volume to the desired playing level? This as opposed to just "rolling the volume back about 10%" and then adjusting the EQ? There was a post a few pages back about a Sadowsky artist and a photo of his settings - his boost levels were VERY high and it made me wonder if he was using the preamp in that manner.
