The good? Been married +30 years...

The bad? 'Thank You' cards for the first two, on their respective outta-versary dates, really adds up after awhile... but, they come from the heart, and that's what's important...

... the third is a keeper, as she actually enjoys my 'bass face', 3/2/200... not all the time, mind you...

I have a question about the Will Lee models. I know it's possible to modify the mids of the preamp. But can those basses sound like a "standard" Sadowsky bass?

Sure. There's a small switch on the control plate, which turns the mid boost on or off. The mid circuit is a separate board, and when you turn it off the electronics are the standard Sadowsky pre--itself defeatable by pulling up on the VTC knob to run passive.

Pretty smart design, I figure!

I'm on #3 as well. .

I have three, but the total I've owned is four. Long story short: the one I let go had a swamp ash body, and my ears are happier with alder. I'm weird that way: alder body, but pretty much any fretboard. My Sadowsky stable is alder/maple, alder/Brazilian, alder/ebony.

I'm now a single divorcee, so my basses are my wives. Eww, that sounds creepy. Soulmates.

Yeah, when I was putting together my fretless with Roger's input, that's what we came up with. Full size body, not 7/8 (to go along with my full-sized body), and even though I wanted Jazz pickups because I already had a Sadowsky PJ to cover other tones, I always kind of preferred the look and the ergonomics of a P body, so that's what I got.

Of course, where that leaves me with my Sadowskys is that if I want Jazz tones, I reach for my P body, and if I want P tones, I reach for my Jazz body.

Makes perfect sense to me.
