I played that bass. It's fantastic. Thank you for buying it....it saves me from trying to explain it to my wife!!! ;)

It really seems that way, from what I've read. I've wanted a Sadowsky forever (like, since the early 90s), but the NYCs were always out of my reach. I'd been planning on getting a Metro, but when Sadowsky announced the Satin line, I realized that was really the sweet spot for me. I prefer solid colors, and my back and shoulders are kind of jacked up (so the lighter weight really helps).

I took forever to decide on a color; ended up going w Olympic white, maple fretboard, and parchment pickguard. For some reason, that combo just really grabs me.

Yes that's correct. It was a tough decision because I love the express models, but after owning an RV 5 and playing several of the Sadowsky Modern basses, I've concluded that I'm much more a fan of the Moderns. The soapbars and their positioning gives me the exact tone I have in my head.

And that white one is probably the very best bass I've ever played - period. And I've played much more expensive basses... just not a better one.

Larry and JD over at Corner are super great guys and they let me transfer my deposit over to the new one to hold it. There are a lot of cats in Nashville who are chomping at the bit for those Express models, so I'm sure they'll sell quick.

The six months will fly by (they did for me anyway)... But now I'm in the home stretch - any day now I should be getting that email... This last week I've been really trying to keep calm and not check my email every 10 minutes, lol..

Some days are better than others... :roflmao:

If you're wondering why I love the Sadowsky Modern so much, here is a video I made of my newest Valenti bass - which has the same specs as the Sadowsky Modern and the same preamp and soapbar pickups:



The pan knob is set right in the middle with no treble boost, about 10% VTC and a slight bass bump. Sorry I didn't get more of the bass in view - I'm bad at making videos.

Can't wait till I get my hands on the that white Sadowsky Modern.

One of the main ways we keep the price down is no options other than these two wood combinations. All the bodies are chambered, but if you want to specify a weight, you need to order a regular NYC.

I just ordered my Metro Express today , ash maple tobacco burst 4 string. I am really looking forward to it , I was able to play one at NAMM and knew right away it was a great bass . I sort of sadly recently sold my 2000 NYC ash maple 5 , I just have not played 5 string in so long so I had to get that beauty a new home . After playing the 4 string ash maple express I new that would solve the sadness of not having that wood combo and that pre amp , something about that sound , for me I just have to have it and missed it when I let the 5 go. , the new Express will sit nicely with my 2009 NYC Alder Brazilian P bass .

After receiving my TYO today my friend introduced a Metro Express Morado/Alder 5er & I was quite impressed by the tight mids & bass & juicy highs of the bass. The neck was noticeably different from my experience with Metro necks - it reminded me immediately of an old Fender MIA 5 I used to own, but just that much sleeker & with a great satin feel. Guys with these on order will be in for a treat!

I just bought a Sadowsky from Ikebe Music, they have some really cool basses.

I've been checking out the TYO line, some really awesome options, those basses look great.
