Couldn't you have gently bent the jack "springs" back into place? (You know, those contact points in the jack) I compared my Monster Cable jacks with D'Adarrio and SwitchCraft jacks...they seem about the same size to me. If there is a diff it must be millemeteres.

I did try that. No luck.

I am giving very serious consideration to selling all of my Music Man basses (Most are limited editions or one offs) to or a NYC 5 Sadowsky Bass. These basses as of late, are really starting to grow on me.

IMO a good move, but you are tuned into a completely different instrument so I'd buy the Sadowsky first. Don't sell anything until later in case you don't get on with your new bass.

I kept my EBMM Stingray5 as a back up while I gigged my Metro. Glad I did but it was just a security blanket.

I used to be a MusicMan fanboi until I bought my first Sadowsky MV4. I no longer own any MusicMan basses.

I will be keeping 2 of my EBMM basses. The first is my Stingray Classic 4H. That one is the breast cancer awareness bass that EBMM built for me in 2010 after my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now a survivor and we use that bass to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The other EBMM I am keeping is my 30th Anniversary Stingray 5H. I absolutely love that bass. I will also be keeping my K.B. custom shop basses. But in order to fund the Sadowsky, I am going to sell all of my Bongos. All of those are limited editions. One is a complete one off. One is a BFR limited run that only 3 basses like it were made and the last one was a Guitar Center Platinum room exclusive. Less than 50 were made. I figure selling those 3 and a little extra cash if needed should cover the cost of the Sadowsky. The former bass player of a friends band had one and let me play it on a few occasions. Ever since my first time I played his, I got hooked. I also really like the idea of having a bass custom built for me.

Amen. I loved Music Man basses when I played four-string. After switching to 5, I quickly realized that I couldn't become comfortable on the SR5's narrow string spacing. So, I eventually got Sadowsky to build me a 5-string P-bass with Music Man style pickup:

End result is that I got the playability I love, Sadowsky quality and features (chambered body, VTC, etc), and the Stingray tonal vibe. Note: this bass does NOT clone the Stingray tone, in the same way that my Sadowsky P-bass does not clone the Fender P-bass tone. And that's fine: the Sadowsky versions of those tones are magic to my ears.

Yes, that bass is a keeper. The 25th 5-string was right up there, as well.

I sold three Fender Custom Shop and three Music Man basses to buy a Sadowsky and a Fodera. Hardest but by far the best decision ever.

I sold my three EBMM Stingrays to buy my Sadowsky Satin J Bass. Best bass-related decision I've ever made. Stingrays are cool, but I like Sadowskys better, and with my back problems, the 7.63 lb Satin is a godsend.

I never thought of my EBMM Stingray 5 as a heavy bass but really felt the difference going to my metro. Never weighed my Metro but it is much lighter and has a better balance on my shoulder. I agree about the cool factor of the Rays.

With both of my NYC Sadowskys up and running again after their switch craft jack transplants, and an incredibly awesome new Metro Vintage 5 in my hands, I need some Sadowsky threads!
It's time to show my NY roots out here in California. Where do you guys buy your Sadowsky shirts and hats? I can't seem to find them online.

My old hat got sun bleached from so much wear, not to mention the sweat. I better pick a new one up before California heats up again.

You can't take for granted how much facial protection you get from wearing a hat in the sun. My Irish skin burns fast in the sun.

Off to take my poor baby into the shop today for a new jack. Sadowsky owners, be careful of monster cables. They will destroy your jack!

I have a similar problem. My jack needs replacing due to using a monster cable. I acknowledge that the cable is the culprit but what high quality cable do I replace it with?
