That is called Candy Apple Green, which was part of a refin that Pat Wilkins did for me. My lead guitarist had the Clapton custom strat in what was called 7UP green way back when, and I always wanted that color at some point. Took it to the shop to have the neck sanded and oiled after the refin and Lisa mentioned that she wanted to do more CAG basses (about 2 years ago), so that may be a little bit why the color is showing up again. Apparently the green ones didn't always move so quick, but there seems to be a resurgence.

I had debated ordering a quilt maple NYC with trans green (same idea as @BluesyCat) , but found this used for a gret price, and put the difference to the repaint, and my quilt maple Lakland in trans red a la BluesyCat.

Stupid question, is the VTC just a tone control similar to what would be on a Jazz Bass, either passive or active, and that's the vintage part or is it something different ?

There's no stupid questions here! It's a roll off, which would be different than a standard Fender jazz tone control.

The VTC -- Vintage Tone Control -- is a passive (cut only) tone control similar to what would be on a traditional Fender P or J bass. Sadowsky might not use the same filter capacitor, but the principle is the same.

Yes it is a passive tone control. It sends treble to ground. It does a great job of bringing the organic, passive bass, feel into the mix with the active circuit.

Awesome, it looks great. I've been thinking about a Candy Apple Greenburst, similar to this, but metallic.

I would go with the 1st one, that burst is absolutely gorgeous. That if we talk about the color, otherwise I prefer maple

As a professional, do you feel this ‘more traditional’ color is more accepted by your band Mates? I am not a pro such as yourself, but when coming in to gig with a new group I do wonder if your color/ style choices(figured vs painted, unusual colors vs TSB) makes a differences in perception...
