I think mine's a 2006. It's about 7.5 lbs, 5-string. A surprise every time I pick it up.
Even with the downsized body, I imagine more than "light" chambering would be required to make it so light.

My 2012 Standard 4 is 7.99 lbs. My 2018 Modern 4 is 7.18 lbs. Both Ash/Maple, Both Chambered. The Modern feels so much lighter and is a joy to play. But, it sure doesn’t sound like a light bass.

I’m not sure about the different levels of chambering. I haven’t heard anything about it. But, I posted my weights to show the difference from the years made.

^^ LOL Thanks, there’s been a string change since this pic was taken. My OCD must have been off that day! 
I don’t think there is any difference in the chambering between these two. Mine is a 2010 or 2011 model, and it weighed around 7.6 lbs before I swapped the pups. My hunch is it’s still 7.8 lbs or so...the point is the weight of the bass also is affected by the type of pickups and the wood used.
Just weighed in... my 2008 Big Red Jazz bass is 8.0 lbs.
Question for ya'll: Does anyone use the Hercules Rack for 3 or 5 guitars? Or what do you use for holding multiple basses?
My birthday is next Saturday....so I am putting a new stand on my list!

I got money to spend but I'm also leaning towards something that is not gig-worthy since it is just for home.

I use the Ultracase that Timothy mentioned. A quality stand for your quality basses!
i have a few of the Hercules 5 bass stands, been very happy with them. You can get extra neck cradles for them and easily fit a 6th bass on, probably 7 if you squish it a little.
Recommended for sure.
