I'm thinking "Long Island City Iced Tea."
I've wanted to try a Sadowsky bass since I heard the rave reviews from so many players, but never saw any around. Then my local store got a 2010 NYC 4-string. I started with a Gibson EB-2 in 1964 and subsequently got an SG and then a Rob Allen MB-2 fretless and never liked Fender style basses until I got the American Performer Mustang earlier this year. I also disliked maple fretboards. So, my plan was to try the Sadowsky to show myself how much I disliked 34 inch scale basses with maple necks. Oh well things don't always work out as planned.

Thanks, it's so pretty I feel I need to shower and brush my teeth just to pick it up. I never would have opted for such a beauty, but sometimes you just get lucky.

Haha, that’s a funny story about how you came to love your Sadowsky!
I was a Fender player until I got my first Sadowsky, an MV5. It's been my mainstay ever since and I've received many complements on my sound. I was in NYC recently and of course had to visit the Sadowsky shop. I needed a backup bass for corporate events (although rare, no time to fool with string changing if one pops) and had my eye on the 5-string Inca Silver Verdine White that showed up on the Sadowsky web site. Fortunately it was still in stock when I arrived at the shop. I played several sweet basses but the Verdine really spoke to me and had the flexibility that I was looking for. It was great meeting and talking to Roger and the staff is very helpful. I ordered my MV5 from the Sadowksy web site but there's nothing like a visit to the shop. I'm in bassplayer heaven with these two basses.

Yesterday was supposed to be the completion date for my instrument, a custom 4-string ash/maple UV70 Metro. Will the gods smile favorably on me in the next week?

Got the Metro Express Thursday. It's awesome. I thought the warmer tint to the ice blue was just a photography thing on the web site, but I think the Metro Express colors vary a bit from the NYC's. It looks great tho, plays great, sounds great, and super light. Great addition. Roger and Lisa helped me out getting this one in time for church this weekend too, they're awesome too (as usual).

The warmer tint is really nice on the express basses. I like it a lot.
