Club Sadowsky!!!

A question for WL players:

I mostly play fingerstyle on my gigs, but slap for solos and some fills here and there. I found that in practice I rarely used the mid boost, because after I dialed in a tone with good midrange definition for fingerstyle there wasn't much need to turn the mid boost on. For tone variation during shows I wound up using the VTC a lot, the EQ somewhat less, the blend less than that, and the mid boost almost never.

So...maybe I'm the last person in the world to think of this, but it dawned on me that for my purposes it might be more useful to think of that little toggle switch as a "slap switch." IOW, dial in the fingerstyle tone with the switch on, and then turn it off to get a scooped tone for the slapped passages.

Been playing around with that lately. Seems to have potential; been fiddling with the DIP switch and trimmer pots.

Anybody else with a WL done this?

I used that mid switch ONLY when favoring the bridge pickup, for an Uber-Jaco tone.

That thing looks divine! Holy cow.

Thank you much! It plays and sounds even better than it looks!

WOW! NICE!!

Thank you!

Dude, you're going to be a Rock & Roll machine with that monster! So awesome, enjoy and rock it hard! :bassist:

Thanks man! It’s hanging pretty well in Texas Country so far too!

Congratulations. I would like to pitch the name "Franklin," after nobody in particular. She just looks like a Franklin.

Haha, I’ll take “Franklin” into consideration!

Holy smokes! That's an EXCELLENT pickup configuration! Congratulations and enjoy.

Thank you! Yeah, this thing is CRAZY versatile!

Does this mean they are going to be for sale soon?

I’m not sure about that. As far as I know this was an experimental build but I’m sure if you call the shop they could advise you better than I could. I will have some videos of the Super P and Super J pickups in the next two to four weeks (I hope!), hopefully that’ll be of service for anyone interested in the Super P and Super J!
