Looks really nice there, ClassicJazz... Makes me want mine. I ordered a NYC with a spalted maple top with '59 burst too somewhere in late July '08, so I guess the wait is almost over.

What I wanted to ask: how is the back of the neck on the NYCs? I didn't specify anything special, so what can I expect? Are they semi-glossy like the Fender American Standards, or are they waxed like EB/MMs or...?

I had heard about Grimaldi's. great to know it's not far from you.
By the way, Do you know of any stores/outlets around? I'm coming with a girl and she might enjoy that better than sitting down for a couple of hours watching me drool on your basses

I love NYC but my favorite and most important part of this trip (no kidding) is visiting that snakepit at Jay St. On the other side, if you close the shop I can break into it and spend as much time messing around...ah! and your workbench will never look as clean and tidy again after I leave (with as many basses as I can carry
)This is me, just in case you want to run under your bench when I get there:

If that bass was on consignment at the Guitar Center in Paramus, NJ about 2 years ago, I've played it, and it's the nicest 5er I've ever played.

I actually picked up two NYC 5's this week. One Sherwood Metallic Green Vintage and a Cherryburst Standard. They are both pretty mind blowing! It was a good week.
