Thanks for this, I'd be looking at both being alder and one fingerboard is rosewood and the other morado. I do want both!! I'm not necessarily looking for major tone variances, just another option with a Sadowsky over anything else I own.

Can anyone tell me if you can request a finger ramp on a Sadowsky custom order...
Or if Sadowsky recommends any particular 3rd party ramps for their instruments?
On a side note...
If these pickups ever become an option, the whole ramp thing will be redundant:
The pickups will act as a natural ramp. Just one more reason I hope to see them as a reality in the future!

That one is mine. Yeah, the pickups do act kind of like a ramp, at least from my understanding of ramps: the sides of the pickups curve down gently so there’s no “sharp edge” whatsoever (please bear in mind though that I’m not a ramp guy, so if my description is weird that’s why).
Not sure yet if they’ll be an option, I’m still working on getting into the studio to make a demo...if it takes much longer to confirm dates with the studio owners I’ll just use my buddy’s home studio so I can get some clips of the pickups onto the socials.
But definitely ask Lisa about the ramp, I’m sure she could direct you to or make you something you’d love!
Finally found the sound in my head tonight. The new NYC has been the best instrument I’ve ever owned, but tonight I put through a new Mesa head with my Berg 322 set up and....there it was.
Sometimes that ‘sound’ is so elusive you think you’re imagining it, but tonight (for me at least) I caught lightening in a bottle.

First outdoor gig of the "summer!" We played a Harley-Davidson motorcycle gathering tonight here in Springfield, IL. Here's a cellphone photo of my LPB Satin J-Bass. This is seriously the best bass ever made. I was an ash/maple guy for most of the last 20 years... this is my first alder/morado, and I love it. At 7.54 lbs, it is a back-saver, too.

To all satin owners that have had them for a bit. How is the satin look holding up from the usual wear spots. I know sweat and body oils lead to glossy spots over time but some satin finishes hold up better than others. My experiences has been a mixed bag over the years and I'm curious on Sadowsky's.
I have 3 and they are all holding up fine.... but I only play at home and church- no sweaty 3-4 hr bar gigs

Although I love the look of glossy over Satin I prefer the feel of the Satin. I play lots of long nights at hot and sweaty bars. I do wipe if I start building up sweat during the set and always at the end of sets and the night. I find the Satin is much easier to keep clean an looking nice, especially compared to my Black Metro.

I have a Dark Lake Placid Blue 4 string Satin Modern for about a year.. Still looking beautiful … Hoping for a Verdine sometime this year
My 60th lap around the sun is coming up next month. I really don't need another Sadowsky, but I should commemorate it somehow...
