It was pretty hilarious.
I think Sterling Ball even challenged some of the people asking for 19mm to put down deposits upfront and he would do it. Apparently not enough people did.
He offered one color/fretboard wood and was pretty hostile in general from what I remember. And his hyperbole about the ‘outrageous costs’ if retooling didn’t jive with me, having a decade dealing with machinists/manufacturing if all types. YES, some new drawings/programming etc, but he was pretty damn arrogant in response to the 19mm enthusiasts.
Which is why of course I ‘need’ a Sadowsky MM5 like ol Ken from Balmer.
