Club Sadowsky!!!

I've been curious about those TYO's on Ebay. What's the toggle switch for on it?
Good question! Anybody know?

BTW the Fleabay thing deserves a mention. You will often see half a dozen listings for the same bass, from various sellers at various (inflated) prices. That’s because their MO is to collect your money, go down to the store that has the bass, buy it, ship it, and pocket the difference.

Ikebe-Gakki is a huge retailer with many locations in Japan. I believe they are an authorized Sadowsky dealer (they also sell new Metro and TYO basses). Their price was very attractive! Had to do it. :smug:

Also—if you pay using PayPal and a credit card, make sure to pay in JPY not dollars. Otherwise, PayPal takes an extra cut on the exchange. And use a card with no foreign transaction fee.

Ishibashi is the other big music chain in Japan. They are also very professional, though I don’t think they are a Sadowsky dealer.

Good to know on some of that. Hopefully someone knows on the switch. Definitely report back on the bass after you get it!

Dude, I love Ikebe-Gakki! I've had nothing but excellent customer service from them and super fast shipping! Well, I'm sure it helps that I live in California. Their inventory is off the hook, by far the best variety from any Sadowsky dealer I've seen.

I know what you mean about the middle man playing that game on ebay. It's obnoxious but it's how I found my beloved Vintage 5, and figured out who really had the bass and got it for a cheaper price than what Metros sell for in the US.

My purchases from Ikebe-Gakki:

Any my secret weapon!

Years ago, Sadowsky used a toggle as their active/passive switch as opposed to a push/pull pot on standard models. The Modern model I think was the last to have it's toggle removed in favor of the push/pull pot.

You can still request it on custom builds.

NBD!

OK, not a NEW bass, but new to me. A 2016 Metro RV4 in Burgundy Mist.

Just picked this up from the TB classifieds last week. Came with 3 pick guards (tort, white, and white pearl) to suit my moods.

A nice compliment to my ‘09 MV5-PJ!
