Hrm ... My Verdine 5 started picking up a buzz. An electrical buzz, kinda like a lot of bees. Grounding issue maybe? It's gone with the VTC rolled off, increases as you turn it up. Gets louder as you increase the Treble boost as well. Done all the basic troubleshooting.

Are you using coated strings?

Even hum cancelling arrangements can still pick up various kinds of electrical interference from time to time. No configuration is completely immune to all types of potential interference.
No, I use nickle wound D'addario XL170-5 w/ taperwound B.
What I've noticed is the buzz doesn't happen on the Treble boost by itself. When the VTC is completely off, no buzz. Roll up the VTC and the buzz increases, add the treble boost and it gets more of it.
Maybe a bad connection involving the VTC?
Doubtful. Rolling off the high end is just suppressing it, not resolving it.
Doubtful. Try passive mode to verify.
You probably just have some kind of RFI going on in your space somehow. Does it change if you turn different directions? If so, that's what's going on.
