So I'm just browsing through the in stock section on the Sadowsky site. I see this bass below and it's beautiful, but am I crazy or is the split coil pickup installed upside down?
Time to fire the intern...

Hrm ... My Verdine 5 started picking up a buzz. An electrical buzz, kinda like a lot of bees. Grounding issue maybe? It's gone with the VTC rolled off, increases as you turn it up. Gets louder as you increase the Treble boost as well. Done all the basic troubleshooting.
Any ideas?![]()
"started"? since when? what changed? location? any electronics nearby that weren't there before you noticed the buzz, wireless, cellular, etc.?Hrm ... My Verdine 5 started picking up a buzz. Are you using coated strings?
Doubtful. Rolling off the high end is just suppressing it, not resolving it.No, I use nickle wound D'addario XL170-5 w/ taperwound B.
What I've noticed is the buzz doesn't happen on the Treble boost by itself. When the VTC is completely off, no buzz. Roll up the VTC and the buzz increases, add the treble boost and it gets more of it.
Maybe a bad connection involving the VTC?

Even hum cancelling arrangements can still pick up various kinds of electrical interference from time to time. No configuration is completely immune to all types of potential interference.
Doubtful. Try passive mode to verify.I just noticed this morning. Nothing has changed. It's possible I've had the VTC rolled off enough to where I wasn't noticing it before. Maybe the battery has gone bad?
