Oh my, the old neck dive question again!
Sitting down, any F style bass will have neck dive.
Standing up, it it totally a function of your strap. If you strap has a slippery back, you will experience neck dive.
If the strap has some resistance, like our Neostrap, you can release both hands and your bass will stay in position!

For years I chased the perfect strap and spent way too much money on some fancy leather ones (and even some crazy looking X style harness). The Sadowsky strap is inexpensive, high quality, AND it actually works!

Which neo strap are you using? I have one that's decent. Others that I've had pulled on my shirt too much which drove me crazy or they didn't have metal or plastic links where the leather ends meet for support. I have one neo strap that's super comfy but the strap loops around the leather and all the weight of the bass is held by just 2 strips of leather, can't trust it.

I really like ESO straps, the contour helps prevent any neck dive or slippage issues. The pick pockets are a nice touch too.

Agreed- I have them on all my basses! They’re great, AND they’re pre-cut for straploks, unlike some others...

There are tons of neo straps. I have a neotech version that looks similar to the one on their site. The pic I posted above is the leather end. It's probably solid but seeing how much that leather gets pulled is enough for me to never use it. I had a strap break live once and luckily caught the strings.

My mistake — I thought the Sadowsky strap was the called the Neo. The straps I use are the Sadowsky strap on their website. Sorry if I confused the issue! I’ve used them since they were first introduced — They are fantastic.

I switched to the Sadowsky Neo when I got my Satin Deluxe. Love it! I find it cooler than my leather straps to boot.

I personally use the Sadowsky cotton straps. I like a lighter strap and I think that it has just the right amount of "pull" on my shirt to fight neck dive. At one point, I bought a few of the "seatbelt" material straps from a pretty good company that come in great colors and feel really nice-- the only problem is that they are too slick and slip too much. I've cycled through many straps since and personally really like the simpler cotton ones.

I also like the cotton strap better than the Neo. But, I have to put the strap on the bass backwards...with the buckle/adjustment thingy and the Sadowsky name at the bottom of the bass. Reason: The buckle/adjustment thingy digs into my neck.

Echo to Roger, whenever I got question on neck dive, I will response the same.
Also, whenever you're playing, your hand just holding the neck and you just seldom release both hands as well, as long as I released both hands, the bass is actually on the guitar stand.

It may help to use a straplock system of some kind. I slightly prefer the Schaller ones but the Dunlop ones work pretty well too, and that would keep the wear from taking the strap on and off you bass away from the actual leather and into the metal strap assembly.

If you're okay with leather I have one of the Sadowsky leather straps thats REALLY nice and comfortable! My only issue is that I play somewhat low and that strap only goes down about 80% of the length I need it to, so the Sadowsky leather strap is my "studio strap" and I use some of the $20 or $30 3" wide nylon ones from GC when I'm playing out (the idea being that if something happens I can just get another one from GC without much fuss).
