FWIW, if you're not interested in fancy tops, the Metro Expresses are spot on for an ash/maple combo, and saves you some money.

Awesome vid, and big bonus points to your light tech for matching the color of your awesome bass.
I put a set of the Sadowsky Flats on my maple neck NYC and am very pleased with them. It came with new rounds from a guitar store and the flats have less fretboard noise and the G-string is happier on the fretboard too. They aren't quite as smooth as the TI flats I use on a Fender Mustang, but feel good under-fingers none-the-less. The sound is even and articulate.

Sounds great and plays great but I'm parting with it.
I don’t know, the first owner put these in.
The double coil sound is a bit ‘Fodera’ like. Never use that.

I was on the prowl for an Alder/RW Sadowsky 5 string, but I found this and couldn't pass it up. Classic and timeless look. I love the grain, the shade and the gloss finish makes it Pop!
This Sadowsky Metro Express should answer a lot of questions and I have a feeling it is going to be superb! "Ash/Maple?" I'll find out. The scale from the dealer shows it right around 8lbs or less!
I am hoping it will be here by Wednesday or Thursday afternoon at the latest. I have a band gig on Thursday night at a regular venue where we get our best sound.

I am a huge fan of my Alder/RW Nordy Vj5 Modern (*Big Single PU's/Nordy 3B Preamp). It has been my GO-TO bass for the past 10 years. It is extremely musical. I can get burpy bridge PU tones like that great growly Jaco-sound, to great Slap tones, but a bit smoother than a Marcus Miller-ish Ash/Maple Jazz Bass sound. The Ash/Maple Sadowsky should be a great compliment and alternative to my Nordy.
When I saw this was available, I knew I needed to grab it fast while I still could! Now I know I was right! Whew. That was close. LOL
