Swamp thing is gorgeous and so is the rest of your collection. I thought it's only me having a thing for a specific color especially when I get the Verdine White I'll have 4 blue basses. I'm only halfway there...

Hi all,
Curious if anyone else has experienced this. I have a Metro RV-5, and out of the blue, my bridge pickup quit working. Active or passive, doesn't matter, when I roll back to the bridge, my output drops to nothing. Popping open the back cover doesn't show any obvious open circuits or desoldered wires. I have no problem fixing gear (masters in electrical engineering), but the preamp is pretty well covered up (as they should be). Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before I send it off to New York!

FYI, just pm'd with some quick troubleshooting advice. If this happens to anyone else, the first thing I'd do is make sure that all of the pickup and ground wires are firmly seated in the screw terminals. See the diagram from our site: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Just ordered a UV J5 “twin” to my Alder/Brazilian UV P5 below! UV J5 will be chambered roasted ash black pearl body+matching headstock, bwb, roasted maple neck, ebony fb (w/black pearl dots), chrome hardware, sc’s...
The Eagle has landed! Sadowsky MetroExpress 5 Ash/Maple, Tobacco Burst. I cannot believe how light this thing is! I have not weighed it yet, but the dealer scale showed less than 8lbs! It arrived while I was at a gig last night, so I just had time to unbox it, feel it and call it a night. So I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet. I have a band gig tonight at a place with great acoustics. I always get great sound there. So tonight is the maiden voyage. I almost prefer trying it out on a gig since I've read Sadowsky's really prove their value "in the mix."
Playing it acoustically last night (not plugged in) it is very bright. But I am hearing brand new strings. I wonder if they are stainless or nickel? Does anyone know what strings and gauge ship on MetroExpress basses?

No worries, of course they sound great solo, it's just the mix where some of us go "woah!". Let us know what YOU think.
Two things...
First, USE that VTC.
Second, you already have the alder/rw thing covered, and specifically said you wanted something else, which this will be, so at least based on what you said BEFORE, this should be a perfect add to your stable. (yes, this is me sticking my tongue out at you. LOL!).
All kidding aside tho, this is all super individualized, so my opinion doesn't matter for squat at the end of the day, but I'm very curious about yours after the gig tonight, so looking forward to the update.
Oh, and congrats... hope she stays with you.

Sadowsky Blue Label Stainless 45-130 is the default string.

Looks beautiful. You're going to love it with that rig, I love the WD with my NYC and HDN Berg cabs.
@GRoberts - besides using the VTC as mentioned above to tone down some of the brightness, a set of Blue Nickels will also get you one step closer to a more ‘rosewood’ sound.

Thanks. I typically prefer nickel strings, so I am guessing that will continue to be true. But I may as well give this a spin with the Stainless.
As Vic pointed out, I "did say" I wanted something "different". (Sarcasm off) LOL
.... I expect that any Sadowsky 5 string regardless of being either Ash/maple or Alder/RW is going to be 'different' from my Nordy VJ5 Alder/RW w/Big Singles. My thinking is that no matter what I do, adding a Sadowsky in any combination will give me a unique and desirable alternative that is world-class. I can't wait for the show tonight!
