Anybody remember Matt Garrisons Sadowsky? It may have belonged to Marcus at in point. Maybe a tribute to those first basses with what we know know as MM pick guard.
So cool.

These aren't single coils in this bass pictured?

HCs in it right now and they're killin. I have a set of SCs in another bass that I'll swap out. I just got this today, fixed a bad solder joint in the pan and switched the pan around so that CW goes to the neck PU and CCW to the bridge like my other basses.
As good as this sounds with HCs, I can't wait to put the singles in it!

2017 Metro. Possibly the nicest bass I've ever laid hands on! I haven't even put the single coils in it yet and I love it already. Three gigs this weekend.

Thats my old bass .it sounded great , perfect balance .a real beauty.i sold it because rosewood or morado.and i just dont seem to mesh.

I owned a Metro 5 string with HC's and now have a NYC 5 string with SC's. My preference is definitely the SC's.

Your basses have made so many happy. Here is a photo of me with the bass that saved my playing career by helping alleviate my back pain with it's light weight.

I have two 2018 Satin J basses (both blue!) and I just can't imagine nicer basses.

No, but I had the jazz blades in an active Fender jazz, and Imreally loved that bass. Only sold to fund a Sadowsky.

My Metro UV70 5 string I bought used came with the original HC pickups in the case, and SC installed (The Nordstrand ones). I’ve swapped back and forth a few times, both are really good and I like both for different reasons, but Single Coils seem to suit me best. I prefer how the mids cut through live.

Really? Every Sadowsky HC/SC comparison I’ve heard show the SCs having way more mids.

Binding and block !! 70’s style !! Just what I’ve always wanted !!

In the recent GuitarGuitar interview Roger expressed the impossibility of identifying his favorite specs and features as tested through the years. In considering this it would make sense that the 40th anniversary model would pull more from a nostalgic place but with all the famous Sadowsky appointments. Ash/maple - the classic Sadowsky combo!

As a more recent convert, I'm one of those alder/rosewood guys though ash/maple was my bag for about 20 years.

You may want to call the shop if they are far enough along to start assembling the neck. From looking into Fender necks, I don't believe it would be done after. They may need to replace the fretboard and that's probably a lot of work and money. Sadowksy shop has told me they will not re-neck a body, so if it's already been fit to your body, then it's too late.

Here’s hoping... I made the order in April*, so hopefully that ship hasn’t sailed... binding was the one thing I could have wished on a Sadowsky

Yep, that’s why I went with Lakland and now Mayones over Sadowsky for years. For the money, I compromise. I want why I want. I wonder why they changing now, could not have done for 25th anniversary or others.
