Here's a couple of shots of a New Church launch I participated in today. My Will Lee worked perfectly, I had a buddy there who is one of the better players in the D and an MTD endorser, he was very impressed.
Saw these guesses here and on Facebook and I agree: it's gotta be a Marcus Miller sig. That's awesome!
From what deepestend said earlier, it'll probably be the only way to own a Sadowsky with binding as well as blocks, but of course you'd also get the other Marcus specs. I suspect this means 20 frets only (which would be fine with me); isn't going out on a limb to guess J pickups in the 70's locations.
The Will Lee started out NYC exclusive before becoming available as a Metro; I wonder if that'll be true for this model?
Agreements expire... I've lost track of all the bass brands that Chuck Rainey has endorsed.
Getting back to Marcus, though: for strings, DR Marcus Miller Fat Beams have been around for years, but I now see Dunlop Marcus Miller Super Brights at Sweetwater (who no longer sell Fat Beams). I assume the DR relationship ended.

I also note you're using the "reflection" bass cab technique. Good way to hear yourself in such a big room

Yes and he still mainly plays his Fender. I don't thunk there'll be a conflict at all if Sadowsky releases a limited edition MM tribute. Even if they make it a regular production model there's no conflict. The Sires aren't MM copies or even a signature model, they're just affordable instruments similar to his bass.
I don't know, but I'd wager that his endorsement contracts allow him to play his 1977 Fender Jazz.

Sadowsky Japan TYO series did a MM4. I see them on eBay.
WRT a potential MM model, nobody here knows if the Sire deal is an exclusive. If it's not an exclusive, then it's open season on MM tributes/models. Besides, the Sire basses, at least that I've seen, are not like his original Fenders in some significant ways that would affect agreements.
I don't think Marcus has any agreement with Sire other than him allowing them to use his name. They benefit from him way more than he does. I'd imagine he can play and do whatever he wants. Aside from that, I think it's likely any company can make a MM tribute that looks just like his Fender. Does Marcus have a trademark on a 70's Fender jazz style bass with a big pickguard? I doubt it. A company just wouldn't be able to put his name on it without his permission but I think they could make one to look like his Fender.

I think it's this. In an earlier pic, there were no routes on the backside of the bass.
That would be a fail, IMO. I’d rather undo 4 screws and remove a plate than have one or two of those cheap-o plastic battery doors on the front of my bass.
