Still can't believe Roger Sadowsky himself responding to our petty concerns...

I didn't want to post this in your thread cuz it might sound like pooping on it, which is definitely not my intent... just a bit confused... because it looks like you might not have the right P5 setup in there... I don't see any pole pieces under the low B. I even went to the Ulyate site and looked at a Squier P5 video and pretty sure I see all 5 sets of pole pieces there.
They're Ulyates. I have black tape over B string pole because of how I rest my thumb on B string. I sometimes tap the coil. It helps with not catching the tap noise.I didn't want to post this in your thread cuz it might sound like pooping on it, which is definitely not my intent... just a bit confused... because it looks like you might not have the right P5 setup in there... AH HAH!! honestly, i do the same thing sometimes, but i don't do the tape, i just try not to push down as hard, but it is a self-annoying thing (lol). i should learn the floating thumb technique so that wouldn't happen, but i'm stuck in my old ways.I have black tape over B string pole because of how I rest my thumb on B string. I'll let Roger confirm here, but I thought he once said it was around 2004 or so, S/N low 4000's.When did NYC Sadowsky basses first feature graphite rods/bars in the neck? Thanks, folks!![]()
2001!!
Roger
Say can you say if Metro Express basses have graphite rods as well?
...like the rug, good fit to the basses! After reading about 2 pages about the pan knob I have an easy solution. Stop playing your other brand basses and only play your awesome Sadowsky and you'll simply get used to it! I think it took me 2 days to get it after my first Sadowsky.
Pic for distraction, let's see some awesome Sadowsky basses!

Yesterday, the big FedEx truck arrived and left a giant box on the porch! Not another bass, but now I have a spectacular Sadowsky archtop in the collection! Yippee! Such a voiceful instrument!
Do you recall a serial number range at transition time?Metro graphite strips began in Jan 2014.
